International Buddhist Confederation of Canada (IBCC) was jointly founded on March 20, 2013 by the following associations from Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada namely, Canadian Buddhist Confederation , Shaolin Cultural Centre of Canada, The Mahayana Pure Land Temple, Chan Buddhist Society

              Objectives

  • Propagating the philosophies of Buddhism through various means
  • Observance of Buddhist principles and spreading the profound teachings of Buddha
  • Enhancing the cohesion of various Buddhist organizations and the interaction with other religions
  • Uniting Buddhist followers with local Buddhist societies
  • Promoting philanthropy and selfless compassion to assist in the growth of a compassionate community
  • Disseminating cultural education and involving in social welfare activities
     

Nature of Business

  • IBCC is a non-profit corporation and a registered non-government Buddhist charity
  • IBCC does not belong to any individual or any other organization
  • Property and monetary donations are welcome.  IBCC reserves the right to operate and manage these donations solely at its own discretion
  • In the role of a trustee, IBCC will execute its duties in accordance with its objectives
  • IBCC is eligible to set up branches within Canada

  • Year round Vesak ceremonies
  • Classes for Buddhist studies conducted regularly
  • Buddhism outreach with lecture series on scriptures and dharma talks
  • Ceremonies of initiation and ordination
  • Various dharma assemblies and services
  • International Buddhist symposium

Cultural and Educational Events

  • Publishing quarterly Buddhist journals
  • Conducting lecture series in Buddhist philosophies
  • Organizing Buddhist symposiums jointly with local and overseas organizations
  • Organizing education programs relating to regulations of charitable organizations
  • Developing services provided by Buddhist charitable organizations
  • Hosting seminars relating to charity law and compliance for Canadian charities
